Email Alerts

For Low Urgency

  • TNZ offers a robust and reliable hosted Email Delivery solution. Key benefits are:
    • Broadcast Capability:
Our Email system is designed to swiftly deliver high volumes or urgent critical emails; we don't have the capacity limits often affecting business email systems.
    • Delivery to the Inbox:
Avoiding spam traps is increasingly difficult for bulk email jobs. Critical email notifications need to reach the Inbox; it is detrimental if these emails are treated the same way as email newsletters and other promotional emails.
  • Email and Security:
TNZ's Email service supports essential secure email tools, including SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MTA-STS and REM; important features for ensuring reliable delivery of email and phishing prevention.
  • Email Unsubscribe Automation:
TNZ's Email service supports adding an "Unsubscribe" link to emails which automatically updates contact list membership.

Processing Time: 12 Seconds
Delivery Capability: 450,000 Emails per Hour

SMS Alerts

For Medium Urgency

  • TNZ offers an efficient and reliable delivery platform for delivering SMS messages to New Zealand mobile networks, as well as Australia, United Kingdom and global mobile networks (340 networks in 140 countries).
  • The SMS service supports for two-way communication, with the ability for recipients to reply to messages. Track message receipt with SMS Replies. Alternatively, include a unique confirmation link in the SMS message (see SMS ReplyLink). Confirmations (as replies or by clicking on a hyperlink in the text message), text replies and conversations can be viewed on the Dashboard.
  • The SMS service supports Delivery Reporting on sent messages, with reports detailing the delivery result (SMS Delivery Result Codes guide), explaining whether the message was rejected by the mobile network, not collected by the phone, or received by the phone.
  • The SMS FileLink function supports including of images, files and documents in SMS.
  • The SMS URL Shortener can automatically shorten links in messages. It also tracks when links are opened.
  • The SMS-to-OTT capability enables future expansion - as mobile technology advances, communication can shift from text messages to mobile apps (such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Signal, or your own mobile app). The service includes an automated tool that maps which mobile users are also registered on an app, and sends the message as a push notification through the app instead of via SMS.

Processing Time: 7 Seconds
Delivery Capability: 100,000 SMS per Hour

Voice Alerts

For High Urgency

  • TNZ provides a hosted solution for delivering voice messages via recorded audio. The system supports sending these messages to all types of phone numbers (landlines, mobile phones, satellite phones and international phone numbers).
  • Track successful deliveries using Voice Acknowledgements (recipients press 1 to confirm receipt of the message).
  • Support for failover to alternate methods - where recipients do not have voicemail or an answering service enabled, alternate delivery methods (such as SMS or Email) can be used.
  • The platform includes multi-lingual support for ensuring that messages are delivered in the correct language.

Processing Time: 5 Seconds
Delivery Capability: 30,000 Voice Messages per Hour

Emergency Management Dashboard

Contact Management

The Dashboard includes a complete Address Book. Store your contacts in the Address Book and send your notification from any device, anywhere, giving you flexibility in an emergency.

Contacts can be saved into Groups and can include contact names and personal details for message personalisation.

Manage your Contacts manually or utilise an automation solution.

Manual Contact Management

Utilise the Dashboard for managing Contacts.

Using the Dashboard, import your Contacts using a spreadsheet (see Adding Address Book Contacts) and manually maintain Contacts (see Managing Contacts).

Automated Contact Management

For an additional fee, our team can handle the initial import of your Contact Lists.

If using an existing CRM tool, we can develop an integration that automatically syncs Contact List changes between the systems.

Self-Service Subscription Platform

An advanced voice platform for delivering voice messages to landlines and mobiles.

The Self-Service Subscription Platform allows Contacts to self-register and self-manage their alarm subscriptions, update their preferred contact information and review recent alarms.

The Self-Service Subscription Platform is hosted by TNZ and can be whitelabelled with access via a subdomain like "alarms.yourdomain.nz". Contacts can access the platform via a public URL, a QR code, or a unique link that is emailed or SMS'd to them.

Security includes reCAPTCHA to prevent bot abuse, options for limiting access by IP Location, or allowing only telephone country codes to limit toll-fraud abuse. User access can be protected by either a username/password or password-less authentication (MFA).

Message Templates

Create pre-saved Message Templates to speed up alert creation in an emergency - reducing the time to send and reducing potential for errors in a high-pressure situation.

Simply log into the Dashboard, select your Message Template, select your Contacts, modify the message (if required), and Send!

Email Templates

Email Templates support Plain Text and HTML styles, including images, hyperlinks, file attachments, logos and branding.

Customise your sending Email Address, Subject and Reply-To. Also include personalised values, for instance, [[FIRST NAME]] will insert the Contact's first name into the message.

Pre-Headers are also supported, giving recipients a brief overview of the message prior to opening, speeding up information synthesis.

SMS Templates

SMS Templates include support for personalisation, for instance, [[FIRST NAME]] and [[LOCATION]], extracted from their Contact record.

Additionally, sending of emojis, hyperlinks, files and quick-reply/confirm links is supported.

Voice Templates

Voice Templates are separated into "Text-to-Speech" and "VoiceCast" templates; manage these message types independently.

Text-to-Speech templates support personalisation, such as names and custom values.

Voice Templates also include Keypad options (for example, "press 1 to confirm, press 2 to replay the message") and Answer Phone Detection rules.

Tracking Reports

View reports in the Dashboard -

  • Message Failures - see which messages failed to send and why
  • Confirmations - see if a recipient clicks a link in an alert, replies to an alert, or presses a keypad button
  • Retrying - set up automated retries based on results
  • API Reporting - using a third-party tool to track alerts? Use hooks or poll for results

Email Reporting Stages

  1. Delivery status
The email was accepted by the appropriate email server and submitted to the user's mailbox.
  2. Read status
The recipient opened the email, however, some web-based email clients such as Gmail prefetch the email and trigger the read status.
  3. Response status
The recipient replied to the email or clicked a link in the email.

SMS Reporting Stages

  1. Delivery status
The SMS was accepted by the appropriate mobile network and submitted to the mobile number.
  2. Read status
The New Zealand mobile networks do not support SMS read status reports, however, we are able to confirm the read status if the mobile opens a link inside the message.
  3. Response status
The mobile replies to the SMS message or clicks a link in the SMS message.

Voice Reporting Stages

  1. Delivery status
The call was answered by a human (and not an answering machine).
  2. Read status
The call was answered and listened to for 'x' seconds.
  3. Response status
The recipient pressed a keypad button to confirm receipt of the call.
